What This Part Does
The door catch is the small hook on the inside of the dryer door. When you close the door it engages the latch in the cabinet, holding the door shut and pressing the door switch that tells the dryer it is safe to run. After years of opening and closing, or if the door is pulled open during a cycle, the plastic hook can wear down or snap.
