What This Part Does
This is the pull handle on the front of the washing machine door. It pivots on a small mount inside the door frame: pulling the paddle releases the door catch so the door can open once the door lock has released at the end of a cycle. Because it is pulled every time the machine is loaded or emptied, the plastic paddle and pivot take a lot of wear, and pulling while the door is still locked is a common cause of breakage. A new handle restores a clean, positive pull.
