What This Part Does
The thermostats sit on the heater and switch it off if the air gets too hot, protecting the dryer from overheating. When one of them trips or fails, the drum keeps turning but the dryer blows cold air, or it heats briefly and then cuts out.

Repair Difficulty
Moderate. Unplug the dryer and remove the rear or top panel to reach the heater. Move the wires from each old thermostat to the matching new one, using the bracket supplied where needed.

Thermostats usually trip because the dryer cannot get rid of its hot air. Clean the fluff filter and check the vent hose for kinks or blockages before fitting, or the new thermostats may trip too.
