What This Part Does

The door interlock sits behind the door catch on the front of the machine. When the door is closed and a programme starts, a heated PTC element inside the interlock moves a small bolt that locks the door and completes the circuit that lets the machine fill, wash and spin. At the end of the cycle the element cools, and after a short delay the door unlocks. A worn interlock can stop the machine starting, or leave the door locked when the wash has finished.
