What This Part Does
An NTC sensor is a thermistor whose resistance falls as it warms up. The dryer's control board reads that resistance to work out the air temperature, then switches the heating on and off and decides when a programme has finished. If the sensor fails or drifts, the board gets the wrong reading, so the dryer may under-dry, over-heat or stop with an error.
