What This Part Does
The two cut-outs sit on the heater housing. The 106°C thermostat switches the heater off if the air gets too hot and resets itself as it cools. The 130°C green spot cut-out is a one-shot safety device: once it trips it stays open and must be replaced. When either one trips or fails, the dryer keeps turning but blows cold air. If either fails, replace both.
Common Fault Symptoms
- The drum turns but the dryer blows cold air
- The dryer heats for a short time and then goes cold
- Clothes are still damp after a full programme
- The dryer has overheated, often after a blocked filter or condenser
- A thermostat tests open-circuit on a meter

Repair Difficulty
Moderate. Unplug the dryer and remove the back or side panel to reach the heater housing. Each thermostat is held by screws or a clip and has two spade connectors. Fit the 106°C and 130°C thermostats in the same positions as the old ones.
Typical Tools Required
- Screwdrivers to remove the rear or side panel
- Multimeter (optional) to test the old thermostats
- Phone camera to record which thermostat goes where
Description
This kit is compatible with C00095566. It replaces both heater cut-outs at once, which is recommended whenever either one fails. It suits models made after May 1999 (date code 65 onwards); earlier dryers use a different kit.
Thermostats usually trip because hot air cannot escape. Before fitting the new kit, clean the fluff filter, the condenser and any vent hose, or the new thermostats may trip too. Check your dryer's model number on the label inside the door and compare your old thermostats with the photos. If unsure, send us your model number and we will check it for you.
Electrical or gas appliance parts should only be fitted by a suitably competent person. Always isolate the appliance before inspection or repair and ensure correct safety checks are carried out after fitting.
