What This Part Does
The thermal fuse sits on the heater assembly and is the last line of protection against overheating. Inside is a solder pellet that melts at 206°C and permanently opens the circuit. Once it has blown it cannot reset, so the drum keeps turning but the heater no longer works until the fuse is replaced.
Common Fault Symptoms
- The drum turns but the dryer blows cold air
- Clothes are still damp after a full programme
- The dryer overheated, often after a blocked filter, condenser or vent hose
- The fuse tests open-circuit on a meter

Moderate. Unplug the dryer and remove the rear or top panel to reach the heater. The fuse is clipped or screwed against the heater housing and has two connectors. Photograph the wiring before you disconnect it, and make sure the new fuse sits flat against the same surface.
Typical Tools Required

- Multimeter (optional) to test the old fuse
- Phone camera to record the wiring
Description

A blown thermal fuse almost always means the dryer overheated. Clean the fluff filter, condenser or vent hose and check the heater thermostats before fitting, or the new fuse may blow too. Check the model number inside the door and compare your old fuse with the photos. If you are unsure, send us your model number and we will check it for you.
