If your tumble dryer turns but blows cold air, or heats for a while and then stops, one of the heater cut-outs has probably tripped or failed. This white spot TOC kit replaces both: a 120°C auto-reset cut-out and a 140°C one-shot safety cut-out, for selected Hotpoint, Indesit, Ariston, Creda and Proline tumble dryers.

What This Part Does

The two cut-outs protect the heater. The 120°C cut-out switches the heater off when the air gets too hot and resets itself as it cools. The 140°C one-shot cut-out is a last line of protection: once it trips it stays open and must be replaced. When either fails or trips, the drum keeps turning but the dryer blows cold air.

Repair Difficulty

Moderate. Unplug the dryer and remove the rear panel to reach the heater. Each cut-out is held by screws or a clip and has two spade connectors. Fit the 120°C and 140°C cut-outs in the same positions as the originals, matching them by their stamped temperatures.

A tripped one-shot cut-out almost always means the dryer overheated. Clean the fluff filter, condenser or vent hose before fitting, or the new cut-outs may trip too.
