What This Part Does
The agitator belt runs from the motor shaft to the brush bar (agitator) in the floor head. As the motor turns, the belt spins the brush bar so its bristles can loosen dirt, hair and fluff from the carpet pile for the vacuum to pick up. Belts naturally stretch and wear over time, and a jammed brush bar can snap one, so they are a routine replacement part.

Repair Difficulty
Easy: remove the base plate on the underside of the floor head, lift out the brush bar, slip the old belt off the motor shaft and fit the new belt around the brush bar and shaft before refitting. It usually takes a few minutes.
