What This Part Does
The pressure switch is the washing machine's water level sensor. A small air tube runs from the bottom of the tub to the switch, and as the drum fills the rising water increases the air pressure in that tube. The switch converts this into a signal the control board uses to decide when to stop filling, when it is safe to heat and when the drum has emptied before spinning.
